Giovanni
Romagnoni
Consultant
Research interests:
Giovanni’s main research interests include investigating the effects of climate and fishing on species composition, ecosystem dynamics and ocean health. His research spans across different disciplinary fields, focusing on management of marine resources under combined natural and anthropogenic pressures and covering aspects such as multispecies and ecosystem dynamics, effects of climate change in marine ecosystems, integration of spatial processes in ecological models and in resource management and ecosystem resilience and tipping points.

Biography:
Giovanni Romagnoni has a background in marine ecology, developed through a Master of Research in Marine Biology at University of Plymouth, UK, and a PhD in Ecological modelling at the University of Oslo, Norway. Through successive experiences as fisheries researcher and postdoctoral researcher in Italy and Germany Giovanni acquired expertise in biological oceanography, in ecological, ecosystem and bioeconomic modelling, spatial ecosystem modelling applied to Marine Spatial Planning, stock assessment and fisheries modelling, as well as stakeholder engagement and scenario co-development. Giovanni is currently collaborating with different research institutes across Europe and beyond through research positions and consultancies.
